When I run CloneCD I get the message that 'HP MyCD' was closed.

Then you had 'HP MyCD' running at the same time. In that case the MyCD driver closes in order to allow CloneCD to access the burner. This error message is not really important, it just informs you about the fact that this driver is closed.
