Waarom kan ik wel beveiligde audio-CD’s in mijn autoradio afspelen terwijl mijn DVD-ROM

speler ze zelfs niet eens kan lezen? Audio-CD’s zijn meestal niet conform de Redbook standaard. Vaak hebben ze vreemde exotische datastructuren; De foutcorrectie die is ingebouwd in de lezer probeert in dit geval de in zijn ogen foute structuur te corrigeren. (dat is de truc die ze gebruiken om geen audio te kunnen kopiëren). Soms kan de speler zelfs geen enkele CD herkennen. Als de foutcorrectie niet uitgezet kan worden en de speler de CD’s niet kan lezen kan CloneCD hier niets aan veranderen. Dit is een hardware probleem.
CD-spelers in autoradio’s en standalone cd-spelers filteren alleen maar de fouten en proberen deze niet te corrigeren. Daarom hoort u gewoon muziek.
CD-spelers in computers zijn meer bemoeizuchtig. Deze proberen om alle fouten te filteren en te corrigeren. Deze willen alle data foutloos lezen en schrijven.
Over het algemeen lezen CD-branders audio-CD’s beter dan DVD-roms. Maar branders die bijna alles lezen zijn zeldzaam.
