Waarom kan is het ongewenst om de spelers in PIO or MDMA mode te laten draaien?

De PIO modes (0-4) zijn een verouderde techniek. Multiword DMA (0-2) is de voorganger van Ultra DMA (0-5) en is ook nooit breed ingezet. PIO en MDMA hebben geen Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) om fouten te detecteren en te herstellen. Daarom wordt het altijd aanbevolen om UDMA te gebruiken, indien mogelijk.
